CHEMISTRY SOCIETY

CHEMISTRY SOCIETY

The Chemistry Society, St. Stephen’s College, aims to take teaching and learning chemistry beyond classroom lectures and to spread awareness among students about the seminal role of chemistry in modern life. Being one of the most fundamental and respected societies in college, it has long enjoyed the appreciation of both students and faculty. In 2024, this tradition of fostering curiosity and collaboration was reflected in the Science Conclave, which marked the golden jubilee of the Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry societies, once united as the Science Society in 1974. Along with hosting a variety of chemistry centric events, the society publishes its annual journal “OXYGEN” and a biannual newsletter “MEGAPHONE”, both of which remain enjoyable and informative reads for the college community.
