THE QUIZ CLUB
The Quiz Club of St Stephens college is a body of students, founded by Dr Shashi Tharoor in 1974, which brings together inquisitive and energetic students who are passionate about the art of quizzing. Learning doesn’t stop at the classroom for our members, who are always committed to acquiring new knowledge, actively seeking out information about everything under the sun. The Quiz club imbibes in its members a sense of curiosity, which impels them to ask questions which do not cross most minds, a member of the quiz club is a lifelong learner.
The Stephens Annual Quizzing League (SAQC) and Quizzotic, usually held around October and April respectively, are the flagship events of our club where students from colleges all across the country participate. ‘The IDQ’ an interdepartmental quiz is made by alumns to generate excitement and foster healthy competititon among the different departments and ‘All things trivial’ an intra-fresher quiz is also held to give new students a feel of College quizzing. Intracollege Quizzes called SQLs (Short for Stephen’s quizzing league, also called ‘sequel’) designed by our members and collaborations with other clubs and societies are also regularly held. A recent development is ‘Trivia at the Tree’ where students get an opportunity during the lunch break to win chocostix for answering bite-sized questions on various themes.
