Key Concepts and Critical Thought Certificate Course

The Key Concepts and Critical Thought Certificate Course will be spread over two months. The course will:
- Familiarize participants with a set of key concepts within the humanities and social sciences.
- Facilitate critical thinking and awareness about issues germane to social formation and epistemology.
- Equip the participant with cutting-edge theoretical and methodological debates and provide training on how to write about these.
Evaluation
- Participants who complete the course and fulfil all the evaluation criteria will be given graded certificates at the end of the course. The instructor will guide and help you at each stage.
- Graded certificates will be issued on the basis of continuous evaluation and a research paper that they will write at the end of the course.
- Evaluation will be based on Class Participation (20%); Response Sheets (30%); Term Paper (50%)
- The Research Paper will be conceptualized and developed under the supervision of the Course instructor, keeping in mind the area of interest of the students. It will have to be submitted before the end of the eighth week of the Course.

- Duration: 8 weeks, 2 days a week/4 hours a week. The Schedule of the course will be provided at the time of registration.
- Timings: August, 31st, 2018, 2:00 p.m. Onward (Date: Tentative)
- Venue: St. Stephen’s College
- Fee: Rs 5000/-
- For students of St. Stephen’s College: Rs 3500/-
- Minimum Eligibility: Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate programme in any university. Postgraduate students and professionals are welcome to apply.
- Selection: Applicants will have to submit a short CV, and 500-word note (not any longer) on any one of the following concepts that interests them: Religion, Class, Caste, Gender. The last day for the submission is 27th August, 2018. Candidates are encouraged to submit their written submission at the earliest, along with a copy of their CV at the following email address, ssc.cgcsp@gmail.com
- The consolidated list of all selected candidates will be displayed on the college website by 28th August, 2018.
- Selected candidates will be given two days to register and pay their fees at the College Office, that is 29th and 30th August, 2018. Failure to pay the fee in time will result in cancellation of admission to the course. Two passport-sized photos will be required at the time of registration.
